Description :
The Prodigy Stratocaster is a scarce electric guitar model made by Fender for a short period between 1991 and 1993. It was designed to rival superstrat-style guitars from other brands such as Ibanez, Jackson/Charvel, Carvin Corporation and Yamaha. Despite its brief production run of 2+1⁄2 years, the Prodigy series remains highly sought after among collectors due to its rarity and limited availability.
The Prodigy series featured two single coil pickups and one humbucker at the bridge position (sometimes referred to as a Fat Strat configuration). The body shape was similar to that of the Stratocaster; however, it featured an offset body with sharper body edges. The Prodigy was relatively different from the Fender HM Strat since it used Leo Fender's classic Synchronized tremolo system.
